Taxes in selling a property in Spain
If you are selling a property in Spain you should be aware of the taxes that are subject to a sale.
Taxes breakdown
Plusvalia tax
This 'Capital Gains' tax needs to be paid to the local town hall on the sale of a property and is generally based on an index of the price per meter of land. This is generlly paid by the seller although through pre-agreement may be split between the buyer and seller.
Declaracion de la renta
This tax is 18% of the difference between the price the property was last bought at and the price it is being sold for.
Selling agent fees
As agreed with the Estate Agent plus 16% IVA.
